I enjoyed Jeanette’s on audiobook! She narrates it herself and it really added even more to it for me.

Tom Lake has been showing up everywhere for me and I regret to say I haven’t given it a second glance solely because the cover was so boring 😬 I’ll check out the Meryl Streep version though!

The School for Good Mothers sounds like a need to read for me. Motherhood in today’s world is a trip, and I wrestle with the weight of it daily.

A few readers mentioned Jeanette's audio version, I should have tried it! Maybe down the line I will re-visit it that way. Its truly so terrific and stressful when an author reads such vulnerable thingsssss.... i feel antsy for them!

Ugh yeah, tom lake cover is designed to be like an end table prop in a Nancy Meyers movie or something.

Oooh and if you read School please do let me know! Would love to know how a mom's experience is while reading.

“Telling.” is SUCH a good line 🤣

I, too, want to know what it really means to accept cookies. Mom is asking the important questions!

I read the Jeanette McCurdy but am not familiar with the other three. They sound really intriguing!

I highly recommend Angela Garbes’s books for nonfiction around the subject of mothering. “Like a Mother” is more focused on pregnancy and birthing, and “Essential Labor” is about mothering (caregiving) as a fundamental and unappreciated part of our cultural, economic, and social fabric. She does a great job of mixing her own personal narrative with the broader picture.

hehe isn't it?

Don't we all?

Thanks for sharing Garbes's books! I haven't read them myself so didn't include them but hear such great things. Go forth and read everyone.
